Spiritual

Worship & Celebration

The Universal Temple of Sri Ramakrishna at Ramakrishna Mission, Kalyani is the centre of all spiritual activities with spiritual growth as its central idea. The beautifully designed temple holds Mangal Arti at dawn, daily worship and offerings to the Holy Trio and the evening Vesper service.

Special celebration and scared ‘Tithi’ as per the Annual Festival Calendar of Belur Math are also observed with due reverence and meticulous manner.

Bhajans & Chanting

Devotional songs and congressional chanting are performed at the main prayer hall adjoining the shrine. The monks of the Ramakrishna Order, local performers and devotees participate in abundant spirit.

Spiritual Guidance & Discourses

Spiritual counsel is offered to the seekers of divinity, and religious discourses and interactive sessions are organized at regular intervals. The Centre organises weekend sessions ‘Satprasanga’ where esteems monks of the Ramakrishna Order visit for discourses. The remarkable enthusiasm of the devotees in such pursuits is certainly inspiring for any spiritual seeker.

Devotees' Convention

Bhakta Sammelan, the coming together of the devotees, is another edifying way to connect with the Divine.

The Centre’s Swami Vivekananda Auditorium, with a seating capacity of 250 people, serves as the perfect venue for Devotees’ Convention. Talks by the revered monks, eminent scholars and devotional music are the essential premise of such conventions.

The unified purpose of the propagation of the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda-Vendanta movement, inter-faith understanding , religious and cultural practices is thus achieved by the spiritual activities of Ramakrishna Mission, Kalyani.

Welfare

Relief Services

Acting by the motto of ‘Shiva Jnane Jiva Seva’, relief service activities are carried out serving the people in the want of food and nutrition, and clothing. The activities consist of the distribution of rice, pulses, soybean, biscuit and, shirt and saris to the economically distressed section of the society.

Relief services are rendered both on the basis of a regular relief plan and also in the case of calamities and exigencies. Both the Centre and its devotees and well wishers join hands to these acts with the inspired fervor of selfless service.

Medical Services

The Centre has a fully functional Homeopathy dispensary that serves people’s medical needs around the locality and of the town. The weekly free dispensary is attended by a doctor who examines and also prescribes medication to the patients.

Educational Services

Ramakrishna Mission, Kalyani has ‘Swami Prabhananda Memorial Scholarship Program’ that will benefit five students comprising of four girl students and one boy student from economically distressed background. Each student is offered an amount of Rupees One Thousand per month to support her/his educational expenditure.

Youth Activities

Swami Vivekananda had rested great hope to the youth of the nation to build an ideal society. The Youth Activities of the Centre aims to involve the youth in the Mission’s daily and special activities in the form of youth volunteers.

Youth Conventions are held to inspire the youth in the spirit of the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Movement and also to educate them through activities primarily focusing on character development.

Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission’s activities are aimed to the welfare of all people irrespective to nationality, caste, creed, race and social and economic background.
